Description
Classic well prepped dactylioceras ammonite Nodules from Whitby in Yorkshire, skillfully cracked into it’s two component halves showing both the +’ve and -‘ve aspect of the ammonite.
These ammonites are found in the Upper Lias, Alum shales around 180 million years old.
These ammonites have a place in folklore for as far back as medieval times when locals would carve snakeheads into the ammonite ends and sell them to pilgrims as good luck charms.
